Well, we have 1 week to go and this weekend is the packing party. We look forward to communicating with all our friends and family as we are gone via this blog. Many of you know that an internet cable was cut off the coast of Kenya, so we are unsure of our internet access while we are there. Keep us in your daily prayers.
On March 15th 22 people will set out on a journey to Kenya, Africa. For many this is their first time, for a few of us it is a joy to be returning to such a beautiful country. We will spend 9 days traveling, teaching, working in Medical Camps, visiting the sick, digging latrines, fighting off malaria and having the beautiful children of Kenya pull at our heart strings. We will laugh, we will cry, we will make lasting friendships and leave knowing we have helped serve people who bravely live in poverty daily (usually on less than $1 a day). Most of all we will learn about ourselves, what matters to us, how we view the world and what we can do to change the world no matter how small. We hope you enjoy our daily stories as you journey with us......
Yesterday was the team packing party. Everyone pitched in and got everything packed and counted. Everyone worked great together and I see them as a great team in Kenya. Many people had never met each other before. Now we just have the usual last minute things to do. Thank you to all who have donated supplies and gifts, they are appreciated and the men, women and children in Kenya will be blessed also with your gifts. Safe travels.....
One week to count down.
